Maternity Coats

Maternity Coats for pregnant mothers this winter

Maternity Coat Mum Review Guest Editor Mrs Sam Call

My first ever maternity coat was from Marks and Spencer. It was very affordable, simple and made me look rather neat even though I was 7 months pregnant and had already gained 3 and a half stone!

Maternity coats can be very expensive and VERY warm. This isnt always a good thing, especially for heavily pregnant women. When I was pregnant with my second son, I didnt wear a maternity coat, I wore a maternity cardigan with a hat, gloves and scalf instead. I remember wearing it in the snow and still feeling too warm. The only problem was when it rained, it would get soaked through. I havent come across many maternity raincoats yet but think they would have been a good idea over my makeshift maternity coat.

I believe the best maternity coat would be a thin and cool material. Top fastening to leave room for the bump and a single colour such as black, pink or blue.

Many of the maternity coats I have tried are very heavy and bulky. The designs can be fabulous but the material is just too much for the bigger woman!
